Quantum Computing Workshop

Researchers from the University of the Witwatersrand hosted an engaging Quantum Computing Workshop aimed at introducing students and early-career researchers to the foundational concepts and practical tools of this rapidly evolving field.

The workshop began with an overview of quantum information science, covering the key principles that distinguish quantum computing from classical computing. A central component of the workshop was a practical introduction to IBM’s Qiskit, an open-source quantum computing framework. This hands-on experience allowed attendees to explore how real quantum computers operate and how algorithms are implemented.
